Paul Derrick to take over at Nolensville High School
Nolensville High School Football Coach, Will Hester, will be resigning his coaching position and athletic directorship to pursue other opportunities in the coaching field. On behalf of Nolensville High School and the WCS Sports Conference, we cannot thank Coach Hester enough for his time here and the job that he has accomplished.
While employed in WCS Coach Hester amassed a 38-4 record during his 3 years at Head Coach at Ravenwood High School, the 2015 TSSAA 6A State Championship, and being the 2014 TSSAA 6A State Championship Runner-Up. While at Nolensville he led the Knights to the second round of the Playoffs in their first year of post season eligibility.
We are excited to announce that the new Nolensville High School football coach will be Mr. Paul Derrick. Coach Derrick has been the Defensive Coordinator for Nolensville and Ravenwood during the state championship run. Coach Derrick previously coached at the collegiate level while working with Austin Peay from 2011-12 as a cornerback coach and in 2007 as a graduate assistant working with linebackers. Coach Derrick also coached at his alma mater Father Ryan from 2009-10. His work ethic, energy, and passion for the game are high as is his rapport with the athletes. Dr Harlin, Principal of Nolensville High School notes that “He worked tirelessly as one of the original staff members to build the Nolensville football program from scratch, and this past year, he helped lead our team to a second round playoff victory without a senior class. He is the perfect fit to carry on the key traits of quality coaching, relationship building, and leadership that we value for our football team and Nolensville High School as a whole.”
Press Conference will be Wednesday (1/31/18) at 3:00 pm at Nolensville High School to announce the new Head Coach of the Nolensville Knights Football Team, Paul Derrick.
