A team on the rise to keep on your radar this season is the Summit Spartans. This is Summits third year in existence after a rough inaugural two years. This will be Summits first year with a senior class on the field to take leadership, and well experienced leadership at that. They showed us some of that experience Friday night during their first game against cross town rivals the Spring Hill Raiders. Summit controlled the tempo of the game the whole time with the help of running back Dee Hunter. Dee contributed three of the Spartans four touchdowns and 180 yards rushing.
The true test to the Spartans growth over the past years will come when they face teams like cross town foes Independence and Brentwood. Watching this team play will make you believe in them as much as they believe in each other. Keep up the good work Summit and maybe we will see you in the play-offs this season!
