Keshawn Vaughn Looks to Become Vandy’s Next Big Thing
In 2014 Keshawn Vaughn was the talk of Tennessee when it came to high school football. The star running back for the Pearl Cohn Firebirds was one of the states top recruits and had just won the Class 4A Mr. Football. Despite being heavily recruited by Vanderbilt while at Pearl Cohn Ke’ Shawn decided to take his talents to the University of Illinois where he put up just over 1,000 yards rushing in two lack luster seasons. Last year after the 2016 season Vaughn announced that he would be coming home to Nashville to finish his college football career playing for the home town Vanderbilt Commodores and Coach Mason. Having to sit out for the 2017 season, Vaughn was assigned to the scout team where he was able to keep up his skill sets and learn the Vanderbilt way of life. We here at D1 Highlights enjoyed watching Vaughn while at Pearl Cohn put up more that 2,600 yards his Senior season and making a state semi-finals appearance. We are positive that the Commodore faithfuls will be thrilled to see another dynamic back in the backfield. After having such talent on the team as Ralph Webb and Zac Stacey over the past few years, Vaughn will have some big shoes to fill. If you know Ke’Shawn the way we do then you are positive that he will not disappoint!
