Eberli Will Keep Siegel Offense In High Gear

Former Goodpasture star quarterback Rick Eberli was recently named the new offensive coordinator for the Siegel Stars. Siegel finished 13-1 this past season – it’s best record in school history. The Stars scored 590 points in 2012, and averaged 429.5 yards a game. The Stars graduate 31 seniors, including star quarterback Brent Stockstill, a Mr. Football finalist and Cincinnati commitment, and wide receiver Tae Martin.
Eberli was a two-year starter at Goodpasture, winning state titles his sophomore and senior seasons. “He knows what it’s like to play quarterback,” Siegel Head Coach Greg Wyant said. “Plus, he’ll have help from (assistants Brian) Guthrie and Brady Goodman.
Eberlie, 28, is considered by Prep Weekly as one of the top up and coming assistants in Middle Tennesse. The former Cougar has an exceptional resume. He played quarterback for three time state champion Coach David Martin. Eberli also worked the last few years as quarterback coach under former Vol Steve Matthews. Eberli accepted the offensive coordinator job when Matthews resigned at Siegel to accept the Head Coaching position at Knox Catholic.
