Clarksville Northwest v. Macon Co. Preview

It’s playoff time in Tennessee! It’s a 4A matchup between the Macon County Tigers(8-2) and the Northwest Vikings(6-4). It’s a home game for the Vikings and you may be wondering why since Macon County has the high seed. It’s because Northwest has a league record of 4-1, while the Tigers have a 3-2 record.
This should be a battle that will come down to the end with both teams being fairly even on both sides of the ball. Macon County comes into Clarksville being nationally ranked 3,483, Tennessee ranked 93. Northwest will look to upset given their nationally ranked number at 6,789, Tennessee ranked 177. The Tigers average more points in the second and third quarter and the Vikings average more in the first and fourth quarters of the game.
Macon County ended the season on a 5 game win streak. Northwest ended on a 2 game streak.
Northwest quarterback Hunter Silverstrim has over 1,000 yards passing and 18 touchdowns on the season, 4 coming on the run. Seniors Desmond Daniels and Eli Johnson take control on the ground with almost 1,000 rushing and 7 TD’s combined. Junior Shatar Mcclay has 8 TD’s receiving with over 600 yards. Senior Shane Carney leads the team in sacks with 6.
Macon County junior quarterback Seth Carlisle has 395 yards and 21 TD’s, 18 on the ground. Carlisle has 985 rushing yards while junior back Michael Tirjan has 1,215 yards with 14 TD’s. Junior Trent Boles has 5 sacks on the season.
The winner of this game will take on the winner of Kenwood and Pearl Cohn.
