Blackman Blaze Play Hard For Fallen Player

As I approach my destination, I hear drums in the background, a hint of grilled hamburgers in the air. Yes ladies and gentlemen football is back! The Blackman Blaze opened their season at home against Hendersonville Commandos.
The way Blackman came out of the gate, you wouldn’t think they even had an off-season. Playing for fallen teammate Johntae Adams, Who passed away in an automobile accident this summer provided for a bit more motiviationd. They came out firing on all cylinders as Master Teague, an Ohio State commit, broke off a 63 yard touchdown on the opening drive. That opened the floodgates, as on the next drive QB Conner Mitchell linked up with Teague on 31 yard pass play to go up 14-0. Soon the Blaze commanded a 28-0 lead highlighted by a 57 and 17 yard TD receptions from Mitchell to WR Trey Knox. Mitchell not only a QB but returns punts also. He returned a fake reverse punt return 57 yards for a TD.
Hendersonville’s offense finally came to life as they drove down the field and scored on a 30 yard touchdown reception to #2 Gabe Dalton. The Blaze proved to be too much though as the ensuing kickoff was returned 96 yards by Teague for the touchdown. The commandos added a TD before the half off of an 13 yard touchdown run by QB Brett Coker. At the half Blackman held a commanding lead over Hendersonville 49-14. In the second half both teams scored twice as Blackman went on to win by the final score of 63-28. Great opening home win by the Blaze as next week travels to Evansville, TN to play Rhea County. Hendersonville looks to bounce back at home as Centennial comes to Hendersonville.
