Jauan Jennings just wanted to get the recruiting process over with. So this morning at Blackman high school, Jennings, a four star athlete by 247sports.com decided to stay with orange as a team color. Jennings (6-3, 195) picked Tennessee over Alabama, Auburn, Northwestern, Ohio State and Mississippi State among others. He becomes the 10th Class of 2015 commitment for the Volunteers. “His upside is through the roof,” Blackman head football coach Phillip Shadowens said. “He is a young man that is driven to be great at whatever he does.” “He is a dynamic athlete and also has a dynamic personality that makes him a natural leader and Tennessee is getting a player that will be sucessful in the SEC.” Jennings also is the fifth in state commitment for Tennessee joining Jack Jones (Oakland OL), Dylan Jackson (Maryville DE), Zack Stewart (Coalfield OL) and Jaylond Woods (Lenoir City WR). Last season, Jennings was the offensive spark plug that helped lead the Blaze to a school record 11-3 record and a Class 6A semifinal round appearance. He passed for 1,465 yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for an additional 795 yards and ten more touchdowns. He could play at quarterback on offense or safety on defense for the Vols. Jennings joins Nashville Overton defensive back Ugo Amandi (Ole Miss), Ensworth defensive back Donovan Sheffield (Vanderbilt), Ensworth defensive back Rico McGrew (Georgia), Oakland offensive lineman Jack Jones (Tennessee), Maryville defensive end Dylan Jackson (Tennessee), Coalfield offensive lineman Zack Stewart (Tennessee) and Lenoir City wide receiver Jaylond Woods (Tennessee) as commitments in the Class of 2015.
