We had a chance to catch up this past Friday night as BGA hosted CPA in a pivotal regional match up. This game was everything that we thought it would be with both schools coming into this game undefeated. The tale of the tape for these two teams was Battle Ground Academy averaging a little over 40 points a game leading up to this matchup while CPA’s defense was holding teams to an average of a little under 19 points a game. Kane Patterson, Clemson Commit, who led the CPA defense was everything that we had heard he was defensively. At one point we tweeted out that we had heard his name 73 times, obviously joking but saying it in the sense of he was all over the field offensively and defensively. Another player of interest that helped out tremendously on defense was senior linebacker Bryce McCormick with 12 tackles. Offensively the Lions were led by the trio of senior quarterback Ryan Eledge who threw beauties all over the field, connecting 14/24 for 200 yards and a passing touchdown. His favorite target of the evening was Noah Henderson as they connected for 145 yards, while Andrew Madden ran for 115yds and a touchdown. BGA had their chances but was just unable to make the necessary plays to topple a very good CPA defense. 31-20 CPA final as the Lions host Hillsboro and BGA travels west to play powerhouse Evangelical Christian.
