Jashon Watkins Sooner or Gator
2017 High School football in the state of Tennessee has come to a close. However right now is arguably the best part of high school football, THE RECRUITING.
The recruiting season is an opportunity for schools to cash in on the players of tomorrow. Big time programs like Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, USC and Oklahoma gassing up the jets and visiting different players across the country to pitch why they should bring their talents to their school/program. Early in the process to start off the 2019 class Jashon Watkins from East Nashville High School set social media a blaze last week when he posted #Chompchomp or #BoomerSooner. Fans from across the country chimed in on why Watkins should pick the University of Florida over the University of Oklahoma or The University of Oklahoma over the University of Florida.
We had an opportunity to catch up with Jashon a few weeks ago at the Elite3 7v7 tryouts when he discussed how he was enjoying the recruiting process. We asked him were there any schools that has caught his attention early in the process of recruiting? The 6’4 athlete told us his two top choices were indeed Florida and Oklahoma. Nothing is official until pen is set to paper, however if we were to pick where he was leaning to in our opinion the meter is burning red hot for Norman, Oklahoma.
