2015 Watch List Part 2
DeAndre Litaker, 2018, Defensive Tackle, Murfreesboro Oakland (Murfreesboro, TN)
Cross town rival from the Warriors, this rising sophomore is starting to make a name for himself in many middle Tennessee circles. Why you ask? Let me give you these numbers, 15 years old, 6’3, 285 pound baby monster that has plenty of developing and growing into his body. Litaker whom also plays basketball will be relied upon this fall to control the offensive/defensive line. We see DeAndre growing into his body, filling out his frame and becoming a 2018 top ten defensive lineman in the state of Tennessee. With great footwork for his frame, and stout strength that comes along with his size Litaker as a rising sophomore will dominate the Rutherford County scene for the next few years to come.
Jimmy Ferrell, 2016, Quarterback, and Rontavius Groves, 2016, Wide Receiver, Pearl Cohn (Nashville, TN)
Some of metro Nashville’s most exciting duo at Pearl Cohn are returning two studs on the offensive side of the ball with Ronotavius Groves who is holding several offers from the likes of Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and West Virginia comes as metro Nashville’s most dangerous offensive threat. Groves who is stepping into the forefront of Pearl Cohn’s go to threat will have one middle Tennessee’s top quarterback talent throwing him the ball in Jimmy Ferrell. Ferrell who stands at a legit 6’2 has the big framework and big arm that has him running his pro style quarterback style with authority. Ferrell’s throw first mentality makes him a sure bet for the Firebirds this fall throwing to Groves and the rest of the offensive weapons as they reload to make a run at being the top team in the city. Ferrell is flying under the radar slightly with a few offers, but that will not last long as the season approaches this fall. His senior showcase this fall will prove to see his offers start to flow in when colleges see his arm strength and standing tall in the pocket, with the ability to elude a defender if need be.
Cynterius Lyons, 2016, Athlete, Stewarts Creek High, (Smyrna, TN)
Lyons going into his senior year campaign comes to us as one of middle Tennessee’s top diamond in the rough flying way under the radar. Lyons plays for a Stewarts Creek team that is trying to get more wins in the “W” column this fall, is by far one of the top talents in middle Tennessee that you haven’t heard of. We saw how explosive Cynterius was back in April when he showed burst of speed, agility, hands, and smarts on both sides of the ball as a receiver and a defensive back. To give you an idea of what we saw in Cynterius we decided to premiere our D1Highlights, “Field Kings” pilot show on him. To be chosen for Field Kings we look for in our opinion the top senior in the middle Tennessee area that shows athletic ability, shows high class character to his teammates and student body, grades, personality, and need to be applauded for being a great community model citizen. Cynterious will be looked at to be Stewarts Creek top weapon this fall where he is expected to lead his the Red Hawks to the top of the 5A Region 5 bracket.
Tylin Oden, 2016, QB, Spring Hill High, (Spring Hill, TN)
6’4, cannon of an arm with plenty of growth to come in the coming years makes T.O. one of the state’s top quarterbacks rising into his senior season at Spring Hill. Oden first burst on the season a few years back at National Underclassmen Camp at Hunter’s Lane in Nashville. Oden shined at the camp as one of the top passers when the accuracy, distance, and progression competition was finished. Louisville Head Coach Bobby Petrino noticed the talent that Oden possess and recruited Tylin, making Louisville a fun team to watch in the coming years after TO’s commitment earlier in the year.
